We met up with friends to eat here and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was inside! Most Shabu places pack people in and it gets so hot. Our group was big -- including kids. Wasn't a problem for this place. We ordered AYCE, and the staff did a great job keeping the soup bases separate and stayed on top of refilling food. The only thing that could've made the evening better is a vanilla or mango ice cream option for kids who aren't into matcha or black sesame. (Adults loved those, though.) Can't wait to come back!

We had a wonderful experience dining at Shabu Shack where we dined with a large party of 12. We chose the AYCE option and they had an impressive variety of soup bases that caters to all preferences. The meat cuts were also very tasty and the staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating to our large group. Their exceptional service made the experience more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Free parking in back of the restaurant! Came in for their soft opening on a Thurs before their AYCE was offered. Service was solid and attentive. F O O D Ala Carte/set menu - The ordering experience was confusing. We didn't know it was a set menu priced by the meat, but found out you get a veggie bowl, noodles, and one selection of meat. The beef toro belly and American wagyu were both good. The veggie bowl had a LOT of napa cabbage - almost half. For you breastfeeding Mamas, I'd recommend switching for more spinach. The broth was great and you can get three kinds! The only thing I'd avoid is the fish balls with roe. It was $7 or 5 for six!! Super expensive and wasn't amaaaaaazingly better than anywhere else I've gotten them. For the price, I'd go for the AYCE instead. One drink, two fish balls with roe, and two orders/meals with meat/noodles/veggies, etc came out to be ~$90. There are a decent number of people that eat at this place on the weekends, but I haven't seen a line out the door.

Smaller hot pot restaurant with honestly such a great deal! I got the shabu combo ring with two friends and it comes with 2-3 soups (we got spicy miso and tonkotsu), 3 meats of choice (American Kobe x2 and angus for us!), one rice or noodle dish PER PERSON, and two sides (fish balls with roe for us)! The broth is super comforting and not too salty and this amount of meat was PLENTY for three people! The combo ring is only $125 and is worth it! The restaurant itself is clean and a little smaller than your normal hot pot restaurant but the service is fast and attentive! Parking is a little difficult since it's south San Francisco but there should be spots with meters up and down the block. Definitely will be back to try their other broths and meats!

Finally a new shabu spot close by! Came here for our quick anniversary dinner and I will say, quality of meat and broths are all really good. Near the end of grand Ave, you have street or garage parking. Meat selection is good and prices are fair. The ambiance is spacious and tables are spread out well. The only downside for this visit I feel like the staff lacked in terms of service. Got vibes of not wanting to be there or just blunt non welcoming. Other than that will most likely be back

I came in at 12:30 pm on Saturday, and there were a lot of open tables, which is great because I don't like to wait. I was in a group of four, so we ordered the Shabu Combo Ring with Tom Yum, Tonkatsu, and Creamy Vegeterian broth. For meat, we got the Beef Belly Toro, Lamb, and American Kobe. We also got 3 orders of udon and 1 order of vermicelli as well as 2 orders of Fish Balls with Roe. We found out that the food would come on a literal circle stand (hence the "ring" in the name), which was a very nice display. However, the tabletop did feel a bit cramped (and they hadn't even brought out the second vegetable platter yet). The food tasted pretty good, and they gave us a sizable amount. There was one meat item that I wasn't a fan of, but that might be because of the specific cut. Additionally, the vegetable platter had a comprehensive assortment. In terms of soup, I liked the Creamy Vegetarian soup the best. The Tonkatsu was a little saltier than I'd like, and I don't really eat Tom Yum. Parking wasn't too difficult, but the spot I found was metered. I'm not sure if there are free spots nearby. Overall, I'd recommend this place for its good food quality, reusable foodware, fun display, and low wait time. ECO NOTES (Dine-In) Dine-In Dishware: Reusable plates, bowls, and sauce dishes Napkins: Single-use disposable paper napkin Utensils: Disposable wooden chopsticks & metal serving utensils Water cups: Reusable plastic pint-sized cups

Shabu shack has a few different menus to choose from for ayce shabu! We went with the premium one which includes unlimited wagyu, it was $98 per person I believe which is around the same price as Mikiya wagyu shabu house . I really liked the soup bases here ! We got 3 different soup bases and they were all so yummy, even the vegetarian one!! Usually veggie soup bases aren't that great but the veggie one here was so delish . The wagyu menu also comes with one lobster tail per person but to be honest lobster tail is kind of hard to eat and it got messy. The quality of the wagyu here was so good!! It melted in my mouth and was delicious. I also really liked how often the server came around to take our orders, even though it is not self serve I didn't feel like we were waiting for our food for too long . Great place for wagyu shabu if you don't feel like going to Santa Clara !

Came to shabu shack with the gals and enjoyed it! I liked that you get to pick your meat either 6oz or 8oz and then Shabu Shack will provide you a bowl of vegetables, sauce, and a choice between rice and vermicelli. I went with the angus which was on the leaner side but it was still very good. The only cut I liked more was my friend's wagyu. The toro was a bit too fat and the lamb wasn't that memorable. The vegetables were also pretty roughly cut and most of the napa cabbage was unfortunately on the stem end - crunchy, but takes time to cook. I did like the variety with firm tofu, carrots, enoki, and pumpkin though! The spicy tonkatsu was my favorite broth tonight. The creamy vegetarian was good too but not as memorable for me. It was interesting that there was no top off on the broth so towards the end, it did boil down into an unappealing mush so make sure to not let it get down to that level. $32 with tip for a 'just enough' shabu experience is a good deal as I don't always want AYCE.

Came here on a Sunday with a reservation, but luckily it wasn't super crowded when we arrived! The restaurant is pretty big & can accommodate many people. The interior is very cute, the wall is painted with cherry blossoms and the ceiling lights were decorated with cherry blossoms as well. The servers were very attentive and friendly when we ordered and when we needed to replenish some of the food for our pot. We opted for AYCE and ordered a split pot of Creamy Vegetarian & Tom Yum. Everyone was impressed with the Creamy Vegetarian, it wasn't diluted and the broth was rich. The Tom Yum wasn't super spicy, but the spice kind of kicked in after a few consumptions. We ordered all 3 of the beef meat options they had, and they were all very good! We had about 3 rounds of meat and individually had our own mixed vegetable bowls to throw into the pot as well. In addition, we tried the Kobe Fries and Spicy Garlic Edamame. The Kobe Fries weren't that bad, but I wasn't really impressed. The Spicy Garlic Edamame were pretty good with the cooked garlic. We received complimentary ice cream at the end, with the options of either Mango or Green Tea which were both good. It's nice to have a new hotpot place around, since it opened just last year I think. It is a little difficult to find parking, so you might need to park in the parking structure a block away or might get lucky enough to find street parking
